The Ultimate Double Chocolate Cannabis Cookie Recipe

CALIFORNIA – Mio here with the best chocolaty cannabis cookie recipe.

Every year my family requests I bring the “special cookies” to our holiday dinner, so this season I want to share the recipe with you and your family. My double chocolate chip cookie recipe is one I first found online and then adjusted to what I like best, including swapping out the usual butter for homemade cannabis infused butter. That part might sound complicated but using the Magical Butter Machine it’s simple. Skip the cannabis butter if you want, the recipe can be made with regular butter in that case.

To make the cannabis infused butter I used an ounce and a half of our homegrown cannabis’ sugar leaves and trim. In California we can grow up to six backyard plants, we harvested our first backyard grow together just before our wedding in October and did a pretty good job with it!

Decarboxylating cannabis before cooking with it “activates” the THC and other cannabinoids, so I popped our ounce and a half on a cookie sheet in the oven at 150 degrees for 20 minutes. This part of the process can be fragrant. Once decarboxylated I combined our green material with a pound of melted butter in the Magical Butter Machine. It does all the work from here and about two hours later I poured the infused butter into a new container to cool. Then, cookie time.

the recipe:

Combine:

1 cup Cannabis Butter

1 1/2 cups White Sugar or Coconut Sugar

2 Eggs

2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Then add:

2 cups all-purpose Flour

2/3 cup Cocoa Powder

3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda

1/4 teaspoon Salt

2 cups Chocolate Chips

Chill cookie dough in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. You can also freeze some of the dough now to bake another time, I tend to freeze about half our batch when baking for just Coral and I. For the holiday cookies for the whole family I bake it all and get about 24 strong cookies.

Lightly grease baking sheet and scoop cookie dough into desired cookie size.

Bake at 350 degrees F, for 8-10 minutes, depending on your oven and how crispy you like your cookie.

Time to be super high! I only eat one cookie at a time when we add the cannabis butter, Coral sometimes has two. They aren’t your regular cookies so go slow and have fun!
